Wake Forest debate preparations, activities
Several projects are underway as Wake Forest University continues to prepare for the Oct. 11 debate in Wait Chapel. Below is a listing of activities that may be of interest to your staff. Please contact the Wake Forest News Service if you plan to cover any of these events, or for more information.
Wednesday, Oct. 4
- Landscaping continues on the Quad
- Conference on Debatable Issues: (open to the public, flyer available)
- 3 p.m. Weapons and National Security

- Platform stage construction begins in Wait Chapel

- 7 p.m. Public Education
John Hood, president John Locke Foundation
- DebateWatch begins at 9 p.m. in Carswell Hall (public event)

Blair Levin, former chief of staff to the chairman of the Federal Communications Commission
- 7 p.m. World Trade and Economic Policy
Jerry Hagstrom, contributing editor of the National Journal, and Chip Roth, communications director for the Teamsters Union
Preparations are also underway this week in the media center in Benson Center. Those activities include installation of cabling and phone lines.
